Hi, I'm Mary. You might know me from standup comedy or from being an annoying activist/organizer or from directing illegal live performances of Star Wars or any number of other things. I started this site because I hate all the social media platforms. They are all bad and getting worse and making all of us worse in the process.

And yet, to paraphrase Harlan Ellison, I have no FYP, and I must post.

I made this website because I want to spend less time on the platforms. That's it. I hate giving them my attention and I hate making "content" when all I really want is to exist and talk to people I want to talk to. I hate thinking, "If I post this now, people won't see it, better wait until tomorrow morning or something." I want to kill the social media manager inside my own head and scream into the void on my own terms.

I want my friends to make blogs, I want to read what they're thinking about and I want to see photos of their breakfasts and their art and their kids but I don't really want Zuckerberg involved in any of it. If you want to do this too but don't know where to start, ask me!

You have to be a member to read some of the posts because I want some degree of control over who reads what I post here. Yes, I'm aware screenshots exist and if some heinous internet goblin was really determined, they could send these posts to my mom or my boss or whoever they think would be sufficiently offended. Fine.
